Authentic Flamenco

Authentic Flamenco was staged in the United Arab Emirates in 2024, with LEVEL delivering the technical production.

Flamenco gives equal weight to its three disciplines — cante (song), toque (guitar) and baile (dance) — and a production has to serve all three at once. That makes it a demanding audio subject: voice, guitar, percussion and the dancer's footwork are all part of the performance and all have to be heard, so microphone provision extended to the stage floor itself and the system was specified for detail and dynamic range rather than level.

Lighting was designed to read the dancer's movement — defined positions, strong side light to give the body shape, and a warm palette suited to the form. LEVEL supplied the staging and rigging and crewed the performance.
