Peter Pan On Ice

Peter Pan On Ice ran across three days at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi in 2023, with LEVEL delivering the technical production.

The production is staged by the Imperial Ice Stars, whose adaptation of J.M. Barrie's story combines competition-level skating with aerial work, and is choreographed by Tony Mercer. Aerial sequences over ice raise the stakes on rigging: points have to be engineered and checked for performers working above a hard, reflective surface.

Lighting had to do two jobs at once — clean, glare-free coverage of the rink for the skating, and designed states for the storytelling, with follow spots tracking principals through the choreography. Audio carried the score and spoken content across the seating. LEVEL crewed all three days plus the build and derig.
