Swan Lake On Ice

Swan Lake On Ice was staged over two days at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi in 2024, produced technically by LEVEL.

The Imperial Ice Stars production sets Tchaikovsky's score to ice choreography by Tony Mercer, performed by a company drawn from Olympic, World and European championship level skaters. A classical ballet on ice asks the lighting to serve the choreography first: even, glare-free coverage across the rink so formations read from every seat, follow spots on the principals, and a palette that supports the storytelling without flattening the performers against a white surface.

Audio carried the score with the dynamic range the music requires. Rigging and staging were engineered around the rink structure, and LEVEL's crew covered both performance days as well as the build and derig.
